What is Wattle?
Founded in 2021, Studio Wattle is a fledgling landscape architecture practice collaborating with visionary clients and practitioners to co-create immersive and resilient landscapes.
Studio Wattle is Licensed Landscape Architecture in North Carolina.
I chose the name Studio Wattle as a reflection of my commitment to resilient, sustainable landscape design. Commonly used in environmental restoration and construction projects to protect soil and water quality, wattles are simple yet elegant jute cylinders filled with a biodegradable material like straw or coconut fiber. They are placed along slopes, construction sites or disturbed soils used to slow water, stabilize soil, and protect the land—simple, elegant tools that support regeneration and balance. That same philosophy guides my work. I craft landscapes that thoughtfully work with the environment and enhance ecological functions to craft resilient landscapes that endure. “Wattle” symbolizes my belief that small, well-designed interventions can have a profound, lasting impact.
